Create systems, not goals

Focus on the process, not the outcomes!

It makes more sense to create brilliant systems in your life than chase goals. Goals are often uni-dimensional. Systems on the other hand, are holistic. Goals are focused on the outcomes whereas systems on the right processes.

Consistency over intensity: systems encourage daily action. Goals often feel distant and overwhelming.

Less pressure: with goals, every day you’re not at the goal can feel like a failure. With systems, every day you show up is a success.

Adaptability: goals are fixed and if circumstances change, they might feel unreachable. Systems can be improvised and iterated upon.

Identity shift: systems focus on who you’re becoming (e.g., “I’m someone who reads every day”). That shift in identity sticks deeper than hitting a one-time goal.

Good systems are like the concrete structure on which you build the palace of your life!

If your systems are solid and well architected, your life will weather storms with minimum damage. A very profound example: if you are pre-destined to suffer from a disease, a prior life-long system of doing consistent physical training will reduce the impact of the disease on you.

Build the right systems instead of chasing goals. Goals are more of a vanity metric whereas systems are more like drawing your existence on the canvas of your life!
