What is the purpose of our life?
Most of the answers would fall into these categories: living in peace, living happily, and fulfilling your ‘dreams’ (helping others, becoming a rockstar, exploring the mysteries of nature, and so on).
At a fundamental level, almost all the answers fold to one category only: living in peace.
After all, why do you want to help others? Because it gives you peace, right? And why do you want to make music? Because you think that’s the only thing you do justice to. But why do you want to do the things that you do justice to? Do you get the drift?
I am the kind of person, who wants peace as a direct state of mind, as a lifestyle. It is not predicated upon any condition. For such simple people, one of the most important pursuits in life is ‘finding balance’ in everything.
Here’s a thought experiment:
Imagine living in balance in almost everything: moderate amount of partying, moderate amount of working, moderate amount of eating, and so on. And even a moderate amount of things you indulge in. You’re always in the “middle”.
Does that feel right to you?
If yes, you’re most likely a person who wants peace as a way of life, as a direct consequence of existing, rather than something conditioned upon a goal or an achievement. You don’t want peace, you want to become peace.
